Whew… Praise the Lord!

Two weeks, five days, six hours, and 14 minutes after our website crashed due to the actions of unscrupulous people in this world… WE… ARE… BACK.

My sincerest apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused you.  Know that we’ve taken even further precautions to insure that this never happens again.

Thank you for all of the calls and emails in regards to the website being down.  I won’t bore you with all of the details as to why the site was down, but suffice it to say that in the days leading up to the crash, there was a perfect storm a-brewin’ which led to our website being off line for so long.

Obviously, any time our website is down, it’s unfortunate.  Making it extra unfortunate was that the past couple weeks have been filled with some big moments for Camp Gray – moments that normally would be celebrated and documented with some publicity in the form of website shout-outs and blog articles.

What are some of the big moments that occurred lately?

A preview photo of Camp’s new Retreat Space! Check back soon for the story and more photos of this new building!

Last week was the grand opening of the new Camp Gray Retreat Space/Office combo building – which marked the end of our occupancy in the old CG office.  The new office is up and running, and the new retreat area – in leiu of the “Joe” – has already hosted a handful of retreat groups.  A blog post will no doubt be coming your way soon with more details about this building.

Additionally, last week was the premiere of the first of five Camp Gray websiodes which will be airing every two months throughout this school year.  We posted the video to the Camp Gray facebook page, but in case you missed it, you can check it out by visiting the Camp Gray youtube channel.   To learn more about the Camp Gray Webisode Series, I invite you to read the video’s description.

Another big moment to occur recently was the difficult goodbye with long time staffer Theresa “Mo-T” Wilks.  As you may know, she headed south to Alton, IL to join the sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George.  She is and will be greatly missed, but we couldn’t be more thrilled for her to begin this incredible next chapter in her journey.  Before Mo-T left, she wrote a blog post for this very blog.  In typical Mo-T fashion, it’s a read that will make you laugh, and for those more sensitive among us, it may make you cry.  (I promise there was something in my eye when I read it…)  Oh, and you’ll have to wait until Tuesday, October 2nd, to read it – so come back Tuesday!

Lastly, some of you have been emailing and calling in regards to upcoming retreats at Camp Gray.  Please visit the School-Year page to learn all about the faith, friends, and fun that takes place here all year-round!

Thanks for tuning in, friends.  And once more, thanks for your patience with our stubborn website.
Peace!
