Happy October Genius Day! Please pass along your smarts!

Greetings friends!

Happy October 1^st!

October 1^st is exactly six months after April 1^st. (Or is it before April 1^st? Is this one of those half-empty/half-full kind-of-things…?)  If April 1^st is “April Fools Day,” what does that make October 1^st?

According to dictionary.com, an antonym for ‘fool’ is ‘genius’. If we’re as far from “April Fools Day” as we possibly can be – six months in either direction – than the name, “October Genius Day” stands to reason, yeah?

If, on “April Fools Day,” one spends the day trying to fool people with false information and pranks, than perhaps “October Genius Day” should be spent sharing smart ideas and giving one another support.

All that being said, allow me to kick off “October Genius Day” with this brilliant information:

The 2014 Summer Camp schedule will be released in exactly TWO WEEKS, on October 15^th.  Exactly ONE MONTH later, on November 15^th, registration for Summer Camp 2014 goes live.  Once the schedule premieres on October 15^th, we encourage you to begin planning your summer accordingly, because yes, we want you back.

We’re busy preparing for both of these dates, plus we’re ALWAYS striving to find ways to improve Summer Camp.  That’s where you come in.  You see, YOU are a loyal supporter of Camp Gray, and for that we are abundantly thankful.  YOU have good ideas on ways to improve Camp Gray, and we want to hear them.  Whether it be a new Cassidy Games challenge, or a new game to play during canoeing, or a new delicious meal for lunch, or ideas on ways to improve CTF on the AF – YOU have ideas, friend, and we’d like to hear them.

On this, the Inaugural “October Genius Day,” would you lend us some of your smarts and pass along ways that we can continue to make Camp Gray the BEST youth camp in America? Please?

At the end of today, you’ll know that you contributed to a worthy cause on “October Genius Day” – you’ll have improved Camp Gray – PLUS you’ll have your name entered into a drawing to win a free Camp Gray hat.  Seriously, it’s a win-win kind of day (actually, it’s win-win-win, for Camp Gray wins by receiving your knowledge, and we all know that win-win-win scenarios are second to none.).
