Pathfinders are the oldest campers that live on main camp for the week. They still participate in each of our awesome evening programs, but they no longer take part in the morning program areas. Instead, Pathfinder campers participate in a number of special morning activities including: low-ropes course initiatives, a morning faith building retreat, and a camp service project. Because you’re still a part of main camp, you play an important role as role models for the younger campers. Don’t worry you’ll still do the typical fun camp activities like swimming, cabin time, and choice time, where you can choose canoeing, fishing, archery, biking, etc.
The goal of the Pathfinder program is to help campers discover and appreciate themselves as individuals and to create a welcoming environment in which each member of the Pathfinder community feels free to be himself/herself and is accepted by the community as a whole. Pathfinder campers are given more responsibilities in decision-making, so you’ll be asked more probing questions in devotions and given more reflection time.
Try out Pathfinders for a new challenge and new chance to make deeper friendships at Camp.
There is also a 2-Week Pathfinder option!
2-week Pathfinders have the opportunity to stay at Camp during the weekend between sessions. Their weekend stay at Camp Gray is fun and unique – very few campers ever stay at Camp Gray over the weekend! The weekend stay typically includes a visit to a fun Wisconsin Dells attraction, a trip to Pirate’s Cove Mini Golf, and other exciting adventures! The second of two weeks looks similar to the first, only during the second week, the Pathfinders are looked upon even more to be leaders to the younger campers.
