Welcome to the 2012 Summer Camp Daily Schedule. A few notable improvements:
- The new schedule allows campers to experience a wider variety of camp activities. In the past, during a session of Summer Camp, campers would participate in only two of our 10 program areas. You told us that wasn’t enough, that campers want to try it all, and we listened. So, this summer, instead of “program area” time in the mornings, there will now be “Pods”. There are four pods, one for each day, Monday-Thursday. Three cabin groups are assigned to each Pod each morning, and every Pod has three options of activities. Campers will have the opportunity to take part in two of the three activities, with a snack break in between. With super choice remaining on Friday (a chance to pick from any of the program areas) campers will now have an opportunity to try up to 9 (that’s right, I said NINE) program areas in one week!
Pod #1: Arts and Crafts, Swimming, Dream Sports (Main Camp)
Pod #2: Archery, Going Ballistic, Mountain Biking (Mountain Biking is for campers in the trailblazer program and above.)
Pod #3: Dream Sports(AF), Fire/Fort Building, Music
Pod #4: Canoeing, Stream Hike, Fishing - The Pod set-up is for Settler and Trailblazer campers only, as mornings for Adventure, Ranch, and Pathfinder campers entail specific activities for each respective program. For example, in the morning, Ranch campers spend time at the stables learning horse-specific skills. (Click on the links to learn more about these programs.)
- Camp’s brand new swimming pool will get lots of use this summer, as Monday’s evening program is Camp Gray’s often-replicated, never-duplicated, Water Carnival!
- The three afternoon activities are: swim time (in our brand new swimming pool!), cabin time (which is time for cabin groups – which consist of 8 or 9 campers and 2 counselors – to hang out and get ice cream), and choice time (which is a time when the 4 or 5 groups of campers in each respective age group come together and are offered random choices of activities by our counselors – these range from things like basketball, to cloud watching, to canoe races, to tie-dye time at arts ‘n crafts, to sidewalk chalking the entire b-ball court, etc…).

The addition of our Water Carnival evening program this summer will ensure that our brand new swimming pool gets plenty of use!

Wednesday evening's Super Crazy Adventure Time is exactly that: a time for super crazy adventures for each cabin group.
